Heidelberg student union offers students of affiliated higher education institutes legal advice within the student union's area of responsibility and field of duties. Unauthorised actions are not provided, i.e. no trials or written pleadings. Advice is only available during office hours and upon presentation of a valid student ID. It is not possible to distribute information by telephone or in written form. The legal advice offered by the Heidelberg student union is free of charge.

There is advice and legal aid available for people with limited financial means so that they can use the help provided by lawyers and law courts. Aid is also available for extrajudicial advice and legal help, and you can obtain legal aid if a dispute in a court of law is unavoidable.
However, legal aid is subject to a €10 co-payment.
